Electric scooters uk "What sort of savings can I expect to make owning an Elecscoot?"

Lets take a look at a few comparasins:

An average small hatchback costs around £3500 per year to run (excluding road tax, insurance and servicing)

An Elecscoot on the other hand, costs only £26.88 per year to run, there is also no road tax to pay, no servicing, (apart from brakes and tyres)
and the insurance is minimal.

So with this one example:

Yearly running costs for small car and an elecscoot scooter

When we checked, bus fares vary so we took an average zone ticket, from one bus company, which allows you to travel in three zones on one bus ticket all day.

Average bus ticket price over a 10 month period

  • Elecscoot costs £26.88 to run a year. (depending upon model chosen)
  • Up to 90 miles per day and the freedom of waiting around for public transport

Thats a massive saving of £1013.12

Electric scooters uk "Can I ride my Electric Scooter on public roads?"

If you have a full driving licence obtained prior to February 2001 then you can legally ride your scooter on public roads without completing a test or training. However, Elecscoot would advise you to complete a Compulsory Bike Training (CBT) course to obtain experience and advice on riding a scooter. If your driving licence is dated after February 2001 then you will have to complete a CBT course.

Holders of a provisional motorcycle or moped licence must ride the scooter with L plates until they have successfully completed and passed a CBT course. CBT courses take a day to complete and cost approximately £70, details can be obtained from www.dvla.gov.uk.
